Iran condemns intensified Israeli attacks on Gaza, calls for global action

Iran’s Foreign Ministry condemned Israel’s escalating attacks on Gaza, urging international action against ongoing war crimes. Spokesperson Esmail Baghaei warned that Palestinians will continue resisting, while criticizing US and UK support for Israel’s military operations.

AhlulBayt News Agency: The Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned the escalation of deadly Israeli attacks on Gaza, asserting that the aggression seeks to impose illegitimate demands and forcibly displace the Palestinian population.

In a statement on Saturday, spokesperson Esmail Baghaei emphasized that these atrocities would undoubtedly be met with the heroic resistance of the Palestinian people.

Baghaei’s remarks followed a significant increase in Israeli aggression over recent days, as the regime continues its October 2023-present war against Gaza’s population.

The spokesperson specifically cited Israeli attacks on refugee shelters and medical centers, which have resulted in hundreds of deaths and injuries among Palestinians.

“These attacks will not go unanswered,” Baghaei stated. “The Palestinian people, with their unwavering spirit, will continue to resist this aggression.”

Meanwhile, he criticized the regime for intensifying military operations while simultaneously sabotaging mediation efforts aimed at securing a ceasefire agreement.

Baghaei also accused the United States and the UK of complicity in Israel’s crimes, denouncing their significant military and political support for the regime.

Describing the ongoing violations of human rights and international law in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, he called the situation a disaster for the United Nations and the global legal system. He urged immediate and serious international action to halt Israel’s genocide and war crimes.

The humanitarian crisis in Gaza continues to escalate, with the government media office reporting that at least 200 people have been killed and over 300,000 others displaced in just 48 hours.

Local sources have stated that Israeli forces systematically target civilian infrastructure, effectively turning Gaza into an open “killing field.”

Medical teams and rescue workers have been blocked from reaching the injured, further worsening the crisis.

The government media office condemned the attacks as ethnic cleansing and criticized the international community for remaining silent amid mass killings.

It also denounced deliberate delays in the delivery of humanitarian aid, exacerbating Gaza’s suffering.

For 77 consecutive days, Tel Aviv has tightened its blockade on Gaza, preventing food, medical supplies, and essential goods from entering, causing widespread famine and increasing mortality rates.

The intensified blockade has led to the deaths of at least 57 Palestinians, mostly children, from hunger and malnutrition.
